EventTalk is for all who care about whats happening around them, the environment like the spread of bird flu, social events, natural events like tsunamis,hurricane,flash-floods,typhoons,global dimming, pandemic flu, bird flu, emergence of the H5N1 virus, droughts, man-made events, festivals, cultural events etc etc. Everyone who want to be aware, wants to create awareness are welcome here. Politically, socially disruptive postings are not welcome.
Was there a correlation? It seems that the haze over Sumatra always coincide with the Hungry Ghost Festival. The significance similarities here is the large amount burning outdoors. In one case it is tree. In the other, it is incense paper. Is there a subculture out there in the forest trying to outdo the Hungry Ghost Festival activities.
